Cocoa Cuties

Cocoa cuties are a yummy little treat after spending the day in the snow.

Ingredients are (for 24 cups)

  • sugar cookie mix
  • 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons hot cocoa mix
  • 1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/3 cup white chocolate chips
  • chocolate mini pretzels (plain work well also)
  • 1/2 cup mini marshmallows

First, preheat oven to 375 degrees.   Roll sugar cookie dough into small balls (about 1 tbsp) large, and place in greased mini muffin pan.   Bake for 14 minutes, the dough will naturally sink in making a cup as seen in the below photo.   You can also use a small spoon to press in the center of the cup if needed.  Do not remove from pan until fully cooled.

Boil the whipping cream and add the cocoa mix; mix well and pour over chocolate chips.   Let sit for 2-3 minutes, then stir until the ganache is smooth.

Chocolate ganache

Cut the pretzels to make handles, and attach to cups with melted white chocolate.   I propped the cookie cups on the side to allow for the handle to set.

After the handles have hardened, use a small spoon to add the ganache.  Top with mini marshmallows.   This is a fun little treat and makes a great winter gift! The cocoa cuties are stored best in the refrigerator if you have leftovers.
