~~Warm Drinks Cold Days~~
Irish Coffee is one of my favorite weekend warm drinks for cold days The Buena Vista cafe in San Francisco is rumored to be where Irish Coffee first gained popularity in the United States. My husband and I visited the cafe and enjoyed an Irish Coffee before taking a sail in September of 2010. The recipe for the Buena Vista Irish Coffee is on their website, which is a base for the above.
For one Irish Coffee you will need: 1 cup of strong coffee, 1 shot of Irish Whiskey, 1/2 teaspoon of sugar, and 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream.
First, pre-heat your glass; I fill the glass up with water and put in the microwave for 30 seconds. Empty the glass. Next, add hot coffee until glass is about 3/4 full, mix sugar in to dissolve, then add whiskey. I use a hand mixer in a steel cup to whip the whipping cream. Add the cream to the top, it should float. Enjoy those warm drinks on cold days!
